Summer Safari at the Indian Wildlife Sanctuary

Most people visit Kutch to check out the stunning white salt desert known as the Rann of Kutch or visit the numerous villages with their unique history and culture. However, a lesser known, but equally dramatic attraction of the region is that Kutch is a major biodiversity hub teeming with unique wildlife, flora and fauna.

Indian Wild Ass Sanctuary also known as the Wild Ass Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Little Rann of Kutch in the Gujarat state of India. Spread over 4954 km², it is the largest wildlife sanctuary in India.

The sanctuary is one of the last places on earth where the endangered wild ass sub-species Indian Wild Ass (Khur) belonging to Asiatic Wild Ass species Onager can be spotted.
